“When I first downloaded music software, I was listening to loads of Martin Garrix, which is very different from what I make now,” he laughs. “I remember watching a deconstruction video of ‘Animals’ when I was 13, and it completely blew my mind.”
That early fascination with production led him down a path of remixing songs on SoundCloud before eventually finding his own voice—literally.
Balancing Music and Life: A Work in Progress
For many artists, balancing personal life with music is tough—and Forty Avenues is no exception.
“It’s a struggle, haha,” he admits. “It’s so embarrassing, but I’m really trying to remember that life isn’t all about producing and writing music. Balance is important, but I definitely neglect it a lot.”
His solution? Trying to stay present.
“I just remind myself how cool it is to be around my mates and do things in the real world.”

“I just want people to feel something when they listen,” he says. “Music has this way of romanticising past moments, making them more vivid. It would be cool if my music could play a part in someone else’s memory book, even if it’s just a small one.”

“When I was 15, I sent emails to every vocalist in Dublin asking to collaborate because I had loads of ideas but no one to bring them to life.”
Out of necessity, he started singing on his own demos—at first just to have a “finished product” to send out.
“But then I got hooked—and now I sing on all my tracks.”
The Best Part of Making Music? The ‘Eureka’ Moment
For Forty Avenues, there’s one part of the music-making process that stands out above the rest.
“My favourite part is that moment at the start of making a song when you realise you’ve just created something you absolutely love,” he says.
“It doesn’t happen all the time, but that’s why you fight through the creatively bad days—because you know that feeling is waiting again down the line.”
Live Performances? Not Yet, But Soon.
Despite being an established producer and artist, Forty Avenues has yet to perform live.
“It’s funny, I haven’t really done any live shows yet—which is kind of weird considering I’m an artist,” he laughs.
But that’s about to change.
“Most of my musical life has been staring at Ableton, playing instruments, and hitting buttons. But getting on stage ASAP is definitely the next step.”
Overcoming Creative Blocks: Letting the Tap Run
Like every artist, Forty Avenues faces creative roadblocks—but he’s learned not to fight them.
“I think you just have to remember that not everything you make has to be good,” he says. “Sometimes you just have to let the dirty tap run until it starts clearing up again.”
His approach?
“No pressure. No expectations. Just create.”
His Role as an Artist in Today’s Music Landscape
Right now, Forty Avenues isn’t focused on making statements or pushing agendas—he just wants to bring joy.
“This will probably change in a year, but right now—especially with this upcoming EP—I just want to bring a little fun and joy into people’s lives in whatever stupid way I can.”

“I wish people knew how much immense regret I have for using FL Studio when I could’ve been on Ableton,” he jokes.
